“Though I usually do not record other’s song I made the leap with “Mississippi Sarah” because I can relate to the story having grown up being the eldest in a household of 10 siblings in Massachusetts. In this song Debe’s dad gets kick by a cow on the farm. My family had a small three bedroom house with chickens, a rooster, sheep, a pig, goats and a barn to help feed 8 siblings, a grandmother and parents at that time. Though we did not have cows I got bucked by a goat in the gut that sent me reeling and unconscious with no one noticing. Babies, babies…”
